A seasonal all-day menu designed to be shared makes Sea Containers Restaurant a great place to grab a bite, whether you’re staying inhouse or meandering along the Thames River Walk.
The night we were there, suffering jet lag meant staying inhouse to eat was very appealing. Between the two of us we shared a serving of deliciously crisp Arancini Balls and probably the best melt in your mouth Beef Carpaccio with Parmesan and Hazelnuts we’ve ever tasted. A side of Mac Cheese in Four Cheese Sauce took comfort food to the next level. A bottle of the Ultimate Provence French Rosé capped off our meal and then we were ready for bed.
The restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner seven days a week, and Brunch on weekends from 12pm. Terrace tables can’t be booked in advance, but if you can grab one, it’s a great place for a Prosecco brunch and a spot of people watching during the day, or at night, pop in to award winning bar, Lyaness next door for a pre-dinner cocktail.
If you’re coming by train, Blackfriars is 8 minutes away and Waterloo 10 minutes. The closest tube station is Southwark on the Jubilee line.
