Dryridge Estate, Megalong Valley

A great way to spend a lazy weekend afternoon in the Blue Mountains, is to head down to the Megalong Valley and visit the picturesque Dryridge Estate. A boutique winery, it’s a great place to settle on their terrace and share a charcuterie board or ploughman’s lunch over a bottle of wine or enjoy a tasting of their current vintage wines.

The day we were there was a little overcast but definitely didn’t detract from the scenery. We enjoyed tastings from a light, refreshing Riesling through to their French inspired Rosé and finished with a medium to full bodied Tempranillo, it was a lovely and relaxing way to forget about life for a couple of hours.

Their platters are generous, filled with local produce, and if there are more than four of you, be sure to order the Ploughman’s lunch to enjoy while you sip on your wine.

The platter is full of local produce and is more than ample for two

If you don’t want to leave, Dryridge Estate offer onsite accommodation at either the Sunrise Lodge which sleeps 4, or the larger Homestead which caters for 8 people. The Estate also is a stunning backdrop for weddings, and has recently installed a clear roofed marquee so no matter what the weather, you will still be able to enjoy the view.
