Australia Mid North Coast New South Wales

Whalebone Wharf Restaurant, Port Macquarie

A trip up the North Coast isn’t complete without a stop in to Whalebone Wharf Restaurant on the Hastings River at Port Macquarie. We’ve been there countless times and it’s a destination we return to time and again.

With a coastal Hamptons vibe, the restaurant is located on the Hastings River Drive a little out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Port Macquarie and perched on the river. While dining you can view the local wildlife foraging for their own lunch or sail boats gliding past.

The food is always delicious and being on the coast, you’re guaranteed a fresh catch. They pride themselves on using local produce and suppliers for everything from their bread to their lobsters as well as sourcing herbs, edible flowers and produce from their own garden.

Whalebone Wharf Restaurant has serviced the mid North Coast for over 50 years and caters for everyone, you will find locals intermingled with tourists enjoying a fantastic array of seafood. Don’t worry if you don’t necessarily enjoy your seafood, there’s still plenty of options for meat lovers plus a decadent dessert menu and small but extensive wine list. As well for those who can’t decide, they also offer a fantastic Fruits de Mer for two featuring an assortment of seafood and sides.

For small gatherings, Whalebone has a VIP dining area or the entire venue can be hired if you’re looking for an intimate setting for your special occasion.
