If it’s your first time in London, I always recommend taking a spin on the London Eye. In particular, to elevate your booking to the next level, definitely book the Champagne Experience to make it a much more civilised spin.
The London Eye, situated on the South Bank of the Thames, was officially opened on the 31 December 1999. Originally named the Millennium Wheel, it was only supposed to be a temporary 5 year structure. However, over 20 years later, it’s now the number one paid tourist attraction in London. The 32 capsules represent the 32 boroughs of London and each capsule holds up to 25 people each.
The Champagne Experience fast tracks your place in the queue. You meet at the Experiences counter where you are escorted onboard by your own guide. A glass of champagne to sip on while you take in a 360 degree view as the sun goes down over London, completes the experience. The rotation lasts approximately 30 minutes which is ample time to take as many picture postcards of the iconic view as you like.
